Former NEIP boss Kofi Ofosu Nkansah has stepped into the ongoing political friction between Ghana’s two dominant parties, publicly commending the New Patriotic Party’s leadership for what he says is its solidarity with members he claims are being targeted under the current administration.
In a Friday Facebook post, Nkansah trained his criticism squarely on President John Mahama’s government, suggesting it has been using arrests as a tool against NPP members since taking office.
“Our Party leadership deserves commendation for being there for our members that the Mahama administration has been harassing with arrests,” he wrote.
The former Chief Executive of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme stopped short of naming individuals or pointing to any specific incidents to support the claim, leaving the post light on detail but heavy on political signal, a public show of confidence in the NPP’s internal response to what the party appears to be framing as targeted political pressure.

The comments reflect a broader tension that has simmered between the NPP and the ruling National Democratic Congress since power changed hands, with the opposition party growing increasingly vocal about what it characterises as a hostile climate for its members under the Mahama administration.
