Ace Ghanaian actor Kofi Adu, popularly known as Agya Koo, has voiced his concerns over the current state of the nation, calling for a return of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to power in 2028.
In a video circulating online, the celebrated Kumawood actor lamented the level of hardship Ghanaians have endured since the National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by John Dramani Mahama, assumed office. According to him, the country’s economy has suffered significant setbacks, leaving many citizens struggling to make ends meet.
“Ghanaians have been crying over hardship since President Mahama and the NDC took over governance,” Agya Koo declared, stressing that a change in leadership was necessary to restore stability and growth.
The veteran actor, who is one of Ghana’s most celebrated screen icons, argued that the country’s current situation is far worse than it was under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. He expressed confidence that the NPP could return the economy to “winning ways” and make life more bearable for ordinary citizens.
Agya Koo also urged Ghanaians not to dismiss his views simply because he is an entertainer, asserting that he is well-informed, hardworking, and capable of contributing meaningfully to the national discourse.
Known for his remarkable contributions to Ghana’s movie industry, particularly Kumawood, Agya Koo has been an outspoken supporter of the NPP in previous election campaigns, using his influence to mobilize grassroots support for the party.
