New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has urged delegates of the party to vote for an aspirant who can unite the party and secure votes across all constituencies to guarantee victory in 2028.
According to him, the party’s next flagbearer must have the capacity to mobilize the grassroots and bring on board all constituencies to return the NPP to power.
Speaking at a campaign event in the Eastern Region on Monday, Dr. Bryan Acheampong appealed to delegates to endorse his candidacy as he is capable of rebuilding confidence in the party, reconnecting with dissatisfied supporters, and delivering victory for the party in 2028.
“I have campaigned across the country, including Mamprusi and Kusasi lands, anyone who seeks to lead the NPP must be willing and able to campaign in every part of the country, candidates who campaign in a few selected parts of the country will only lead to loosing votes,” he said, “so, I urge you to select a candidate who will be able to rally all the support we need to secure victory in 2028.”
He further emphasized that strengthening internal party discipline and cohesion were keys to preparing the NPP for what he described as the “biggest test” ahead.
“It is us against them [the NDC],” he said, “we need a united front in this fight, if we are not united as a party, how do we fight against our opponents?
“The NPP needs a candidate who can reclaim our lost votes and restore faith in our supporters, that is what will deliver,” he assured.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to hold its presidential primary on January 31, 2026, to select a flagbearer in preparation towards the December 2028 polls, with several key players within the party contesting, including former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, and former Education Minister Yaw Osei Adutwum.
