The Ghana Police Service has assured the public of enhanced security arrangements ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations in Accra and its surrounding areas.
In a statement issued by the Accra Regional Police Command, authorities said comprehensive operational measures have been put in place to ensure a peaceful and incident-free celebration. These include increased police visibility, strategic deployment of personnel, and patrols across key locations such as mosques, residential areas, markets, transport terminals and other public spaces.
The police also announced special traffic management plans to regulate vehicular movement, reduce congestion and promote road safety during the festivities.
Residents have been urged to remain security-conscious and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station. The Command further advised motorists and pedestrians to adhere strictly to traffic regulations to ensure orderly movement throughout the celebrations.
The Police Command extended well wishes to Muslims and the general public for a peaceful Eid-ul-Fitr celebration.
