The Ghana Police Service has arrested Prophet William Gyimah, founder and General Overseer of Elohim International Ministry, for allegedly making death threats against Vice-President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang in a viral video.
The 49-year-old was picked up on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, during a planned operation in Kasoa in the Central Region.
Police said the arrest was executed by the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) after intelligence was obtained through social media surveillance.
According to authorities, the action followed the interception of a “high-priority” viral video circulating on TikTok and other platforms, in which the suspect allegedly made the threats.
He has since been transferred to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further probing.
In a statement, CVET confirmed the development and cautioned the public and media outlets against using their platforms to incite unrest or spread content that could undermine national peace and security.
The police also assured the public that updates will be provided as investigations continue.
