The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, has presented a cash reward of GH¢10,000 to Asante Kotoko in recognition of their impressive performance in the 2025 President’s Cup.
The award comes in light of the team’s thrilling 2–1 comeback victory over their arch-rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak, at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
After the match, Minister Adams made a special visit to the Kotoko squad at their hotel to personally deliver the cash prize and commend them for their remarkable effort.
“I have also given you, for your drive back, I’m giving you GH¢10,000. When you get there, you can buy some water. Congratulations, our target is the continental level—we will be there to support,” he expressed.

The match saw Hearts of Oak take an early lead with a goal from Hamza Issah. However, Kotoko rallied back in the second half with goals from Peter Amidu Acquah and Kwame Opoku, ultimately securing their 9th President’s Cup.
Minister Adams further reiterated his baking to the team, assuring that support will be mobilized on both personal and national levels to ensure the team’s success at the continental level.
“We will do everything; we will mobilize personally and at the national level to do whatever it takes so that you can win,” he assured.
