Lawyer Martin Kpebu has recounted a tense verbal exchange with a security officer at the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) following his detention on Wednesday, December 3.
Kpebu said the incident occurred when a soldier at the OSP reportedly called him “stupid,” prompting him to respond in kind. “So we exchanged a few words,” he added.
The lawyer’s detention came amid his ongoing allegations of corruption and conflict of interest against Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng. Kpebu has vowed not to respond to any further invitations from the OSP unless an independent body is brought in to investigate his claims.
The circumstances of his detention, including the location where he was held, remain unclear, and the OSP has not issued an official statement regarding the matter.
Kpebu’s legal team has demanded transparency, emphasizing that any future interactions with the office should be conducted under independent oversight to ensure fairness.
