President John Dramani Mahama will co-chair the High-Level segment of the global One Health Summit alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, placing Ghana at the forefront of international efforts to reinforce health systems and address emerging global threats.
The summit will gather world leaders, health ministers, and experts from across the globe to develop coordinated solutions in public health, sustainable food systems, and disease prevention, underscoring the urgency of cross-border health challenges.
Mahama, founder of the Accra Reset Initiative, is scheduled to deliver two keynote speeches during the event.
His first address will be during a session on global health architecture, co-chaired by Macron and World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. This session will focus on reforms in global health systems and is expected to conclude with a political declaration aimed at enhancing international health cooperation.
The second keynote will open the High-Level segment for Heads of State and Government, where Mahama is expected to present Ghana’s vision for global health security. His speech will emphasize the country’s strategy for addressing emerging health threats through collaborative, cross-sector initiatives.
