A 56-year-old security guard has been remanded in custody after being charged with raping and extorting two female students of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on separate occasions in 2026.
The accused, Lloyd Kwaku Boateng, allegedly approached KNUST female students visiting a nearby school compound at night, separated them from their boyfriends, and sexually assaulted them at knifepoint also extorting money from his victims via mobile money.
He was arrested on April 13, 2026 after attempting similar tactics on another victim, and has since been arraigned before the Asokore Mampong District Court. Medical reports for both complainants confirm physical trauma.
The accused has denied the allegations, and the case has been adjourned to May 8, 2026
