Popular streamer and internet personality IShowSpeed has released a new football-themed anthem titled World Cup (Champions) ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, generating massive online buzz within hours of its debut.
The energetic track, released on Monday, serves as a sequel to his viral 2022 World Cup song, which amassed more than 200 million views across platforms during the Qatar tournament. The latest release quickly gained traction online, nearing three million views on YouTube just hours after its premiere.
The music video was filmed at the iconic Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, one of the venues expected to host matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The visuals feature dramatic drone shots, cheering crowds, football-inspired choreography, and several references to Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, whom IShowSpeed has openly admired for years.
Backed by Warner Records, the song blends high-energy beats with football chants and tournament-style visuals aimed at capturing the excitement surrounding the upcoming global competition, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Shortly after releasing the song, IShowSpeed took to X (formerly Twitter) to publicly call on FIFA to adopt the track as part of the official World Cup festivities. FIFA’s social media account responded with a teasing “👀 we will be in touch,” fueling speculation among fans that the song could receive official tournament recognition.
The track has sparked widespread reactions online, with many fans praising its stadium-ready energy and comparing it favourably to recent football tournament songs. Some supporters even suggested it outshines Shakira’s widely discussed “Dai Dai,” which has also been linked to the 2026 tournament hype.
In Ghana, social media users particularly celebrated the prominent appearance of the Black Stars flag in the video. Many described it as positive international exposure for Ghana and praised IShowSpeed, who was recently given the Ghanaian name Barima Kofi Akuffo during his visit to the country, for continuing to show affection toward Ghanaian culture and football.
Several Ghanaian fans described the feature as “unmatched PR” for the country ahead of the tournament, especially as excitement continues to build among football supporters worldwide.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to kick off on June 11 and will mark the first edition of the tournament to be hosted across three countries. The competition is also expected to feature an expanded format with 48 national teams.
With World Cup (Champions) already gaining millions of views and dominating online conversations, IShowSpeed appears determined to position himself at the centre of football entertainment culture once again ahead of the biggest sporting event in the world.
