The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has refuted reports circulating about a supposed impending government reshuffle, describing them as false and urging the public to ignore the misinformation being shared across social media and other unofficial channels.
In a statement released on June 6, the party’s Deputy National Communication Officer, Godwin Ako Gunn, advised party supporters and the general public not to circulate unconfirmed reports, emphasizing that no official announcement had been made concerning any ministerial reshuffle.
The statement noted that in today’s fast-moving information environment, certain individuals intentionally spread false narratives to create uncertainty and weaken confidence in official communication channels.
The NDC also dismissed as fraudulent a purported letter allegedly originating from the Jubilee House, which contained names of ministers said to have been dismissed and others supposedly appointed to new positions.
Additionally, the party reminded the public of the legal consequences associated with spreading false information under Ghana’s Cyber Security Act, cautioning that individuals found disseminating misinformation could face severe penalties.
