Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has visited the site of the collapsed building at Avenor in North Kaneshie, close to Melcom Plus and opposite the Ashfoam showroom.
The three-storey building, said to contain residential apartments and a mosque, caved in during the early hours of Sunday, June 7.
Reports indicate that one person lost their life in the incident, while several others have been rescued from the wreckage.
Officials from the Ghana National Fire Service are still at the scene carrying out rescue operations amid concerns that more victims could remain trapped beneath the debris.
The Vice President’s visit was intended to enable her assess the situation personally and receive briefings on the progress of the ongoing rescue mission.
