Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey has confirmed he is fit and available for Ghana’s crucial FIFA World Cup Group L match against England, after missing the team’s opening win over Panama.
Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated fixture, Partey said he is in good physical condition and ready to help Ghana push for top position in the group.
He noted that morale in camp is high following the victory over Panama, with the team fully focused on preparing for one of the tournament’s toughest opponents.
While acknowledging England’s strength in all areas of the pitch, Partey insisted that Ghana are determined to compete at the highest level, delight fans, and prove they belong on football’s biggest stage.
“For me, now I feel okay. I’m ready to play,” he said, stressing that Ghana’s approach will be based on teamwork rather than individual matchups, including his anticipated midfield battle with England’s Declan Rice.
He also highlighted the positive atmosphere within the squad, saying the players are enjoying the World Cup experience while staying focused on learning, competing, and giving their best for the country.
Ghana will face England in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group L match at the Boston Stadium (Gillette Stadium) in Foxborough, Massachusetts on Tuesday, June 23 at 11 pm GMT.
The Black Stars will conclude their group stage campaign against Croatia in Philadelphia on Saturday, June 27 at 9 pm GMT.
