The National Service Authority (NSA) has introduced a special intervention to assist prospective national service personnel whose Ghana Card details do not match the records submitted by their tertiary institutions.
The Authority said affected individuals can report to a Special Registration Help Desk at the NSA Headquarters in Accra from Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
Officials from the National Identification Authority (NIA) and the Ghana Publishing Company will be available at the facility to help resolve the discrepancies.
According to the NSA, the arrangement is intended to make the correction process easier and save affected individuals from having to visit different offices to update their records.
The Authority explained that the procedure will depend on the source of the mismatch.
Where the discrepancy is linked to information on the Ghana Card, the individual will be referred to the NIA’s special desk to correct or update the relevant details.
For cases requiring an official change of name through gazetting, the Ghana Publishing Company will provide emergency gazette services at its designated desk. Once the gazetting is completed, the updated information will be reflected in the individual’s NSA records.
The NSA said biodata discrepancies usually occur when information provided by a tertiary institution differs from what appears on a person’s Ghana Card.
These may include differences in name spelling or order, missing names, incorrect dates of birth and failure to update institutional records after an official change of personal details.
Other factors include typographical and data-entry mistakes, errors made when transferring student information into the NSA system, and the use of maiden, married, abbreviated or alternative names across different documents.
The NSA has advised prospective national service personnel to ensure that their names, dates of birth and other personal information on their Ghana Cards match the records submitted by their schools.
It said resolving such discrepancies early could prevent challenges with registration, validation, deployment, payment of allowances and other national service processes.
Tertiary institutions have also been urged to thoroughly verify students’ biodata before submitting class lists to the NSA to prevent errors from entering the system.
The Authority encouraged affected individuals to take advantage of the special intervention and regularise their records promptly to ensure a smooth national service enrolment process.
