The National Information Technology Agency (NITA) has named technology entrepreneur and ShaQ Express founder Anthony Owusu-Ansah as Acting Deputy Director-General, as the agency seeks to strengthen its leadership and enhance the delivery of digital public services.
Mr Owusu-Ansah brings extensive experience in technology entrepreneurship, digital product development and corporate management to his new role.
His appointment comes at a time when Ghana is expanding its digitalisation agenda to improve access to government services, enhance digital infrastructure and create a more connected public-sector technology ecosystem.
He is the founder of ShaQ Express, a Ghanaian logistics company that leverages technology to facilitate delivery services across the country. He has also founded ShaQApp and Vacancies Limited, which includes the e-learning platform PrivateLearn among its ventures.
Before venturing into entrepreneurship, Mr Owusu-Ansah held various positions at Vodafone Ghana, Millicom Ghana (Tigo), Nestlé Ghana and Enterprise Group, working in areas including business development, sales, marketing and management.
He is also a member of the Governing Council of Cape Coast Technical University and has contributed to entrepreneurship development through mentoring programmes such as the UNICEF StartUp Lab.
Mr Owusu-Ansah holds an MBA in Business Administration and Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He also obtained a certificate in Leadership Principles from Harvard Business School Online.
NITA said his combination of expertise in technology, business and entrepreneurship would contribute to efforts to improve IT governance, expand digital inclusion and drive Ghana’s broader digital transformation agenda.
