Ghana’s immediate past Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, accompanied by his wife, Hajia Samira Bawumia, has embarked on the Islamic pilgrimage of Umrah in Mecca. This journey, undertaken shortly after the recent presidential election, serves as an expression of gratitude to Allah for His grace and blessings.
Dr. Bawumia shared the significance of this spiritual exercise, emphasizing its importance in thanking Allah and seeking guidance. Together with his wife and close associates, he also prayed for continued protection and blessings for Ghana as the nation transitions into a new government.
The pilgrimage underscores Dr. Bawumia’s deep faith and his commitment to seeking divine favor for himself and the nation. Among those accompanying the couple were notable individuals, including former government officials and close allies.
Umrah, often referred to as the ‘lesser pilgrimage,’ involves a series of sacred rituals aimed at spiritual renewal and closeness to Allah. Dr. Bawumia’s participation in this holy journey reflects his dedication to spiritual growth and his desire for Ghana’s continued progress and stability.
