The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has issued an apology to supporters and stakeholders who felt overlooked or undervalued during the party’s activities leading up to the 2024 parliamentary elections.
In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosisen show. Mr. Kodua acknowledged the party’s shortcomings, admitting that despite providing unparalleled support to candidates, their neglect of grassroots supporters played a significant role in their unexpected electoral losses.
“We hurt many people who sacrificed for the NPP, and for that, we are sincerely sorry. Politics is not just about projects; it is also about how you relate to people and make them feel understood and valued,” he stated.
The party has since set up a committee, led by Prof. Mike Oquaye, to investigate the causes of the losses and propose solutions. Mr. Kodua expressed confidence in the party’s ability to recover and rebuild, pledging to realign the NPP with its foundational values to restore trust and unity.
Looking ahead, he assured supporters that the party would work tirelessly to mend relationships and strengthen its base, vowing, “We will come back stronger by 2028.”
