President John Dramani Mahama has officially set up an eight-member Constitutional Review Committee to assess and propose amendments to Ghana’s 1992 Constitution. The committee, chaired by Professor H. Kwasi Prempeh, includes respected legal and governance experts tasked with addressing unresolved issues in the nation’s constitutional framework.
Other members of the committee are Justice Sophia Adinyirah, Professor Kwame Karikari, Mrs. Charlotte Osei, Dr. Godwin Djokoto, Ibrahim Tanko Amidu, Dr. Esi Ansah, and Dr. Rainer Akumperigeya, who serves as the Secretary.
The initiative is in line with President Mahama’s promise to revisit constitutional reforms and improve democratic governance.
