Dancehall sensation Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has fiercely responded to a recent prophecy by Reverend Daniel Yaw Donkoh, who claimed the musician’s life was under threat.
In a video posted to Facebook on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Reverend Donkoh describing himself as a “huge fan” of the SM boss said he had received two prophetic visions foretelling assassination attempts on Shatta Wale.
In the first vision, Shatta Wale was seen escaping from armed assailants. The second vision, however, was more disturbing: the attackers reportedly succeeded in killing the ‘On God’ hitmaker in an ambush. Donkoh claimed that, in the vision, the assailants justified their actions as self-defence.
The preacher urged Shatta Wale to embark on prayer and fasting to avert the threat and also called on Ghanaians to pray for his safety.
However, Shatta Wale was not pleased with the prophecy. Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Shaxi CEO launched a scathing response, blasting the pastor and holding former IGP George Akuffo Dampare responsible for the rise in “doom prophecies.”
“Men of God indeed. This is what Dampare supported, and it escalated. Ghana Police, if you don’t arrest this man within one week, nobody should blame me for what I am capable of doing and it won’t be violence, but a lesson to this country. #GODISHERE,” he warned.
In a follow-up post, the outspoken artist accused Ghanaian pastors of exploiting religion for profit rather than truly serving God.
“While God is telling me to inspire people through music and give them hope, self-proclaimed men of god whichever god they serve are brainwashing innocent souls just to trend and cash out. Keep playing with Shatta Wale, and one day I’ll show you the spiritual power I carry. Lazy men! #PSALMS35,” he wrote.
Shatta Wale’s response has stirred conversation online, once again spotlighting the controversial issue of prophetic pronouncements in Ghana.
