The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has drawn up a budget of $1.12 million to cover expenses for the Black Stars’ final two qualifying matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The proposal was submitted to the Ministry of Youth and Sports on 18 September 2025 and forwarded to the Office of the President a day later for approval. The funds are expected to cater for travel, accommodation, bonuses, and logistics for the team.
Breakdowns of the figures show that $733,000 has been earmarked for the away fixture against the Central African Republic in Casablanca, while $387,000 will be used for the home clash against Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Sports Minister Kofi Adams confirmed that the Ministry has reviewed the request and is awaiting the green light from the Presidency before releasing the money. He stressed that the ministry will ensure proper accountability once the funds are disbursed.
The Black Stars, who currently sit second in their qualifying group, see these matches as crucial to securing a spot at the 2026 World Cup. The GFA is expected to provide further clarification on the budget in the coming days amid growing public interest in how resources are being allocated to the national tea
