Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has dismissed the petition against him as baseless, insisting it is “frivolous” and lacks merit.
Abronye DC, who has been referred to the NPP’s National Disciplinary Committee for alleged misconduct, including defaming party member Kennedy Agyapong and making false claims against General Secretary Justin Frimpong Kodua says he is ready to face the panel.
He has even proposed that the proceedings be broadcast live for transparency.
Speaking in an interview on Tuesday, September 30, he said, “I will say that the petition itself is frivolous. The petition has no basis.”
He defended his criticisms of Kennedy Agyapong, stressing they were in response to the MP’s own “anti-party” remarks. According to Abronye, Kennedy had accused NPP executives and government appointees of selling security slots between 2017 and 2024.
“Maybe the General Secretary is the one Kennedy Agyapong was referring to. That is why he has failed to invite Kennedy Agyapong to explain or name the people involved,” Abronye alleged, further claiming the General Secretary’s silence suggests possible complicity.
On his controversial comparison of Kennedy Agyapong to an elephant, Abronye doubled down: “The elephant in the forest is more intelligent than Kennedy Agyapong — and that is the fact. I am not running away from that.”
He also challenged the MP’s stature within the NPP, declaring: “That is not true. He is not a leading member.”
