Two suspects, a father and his son, have been arrested and are assisting police with investigations as authorities prepare for court proceedings. The shocking development has left relatives and residents deeply unsettled.
According to the family, it had been more than ten days since the disappearance of the deceased, Samuel Kojo Yeboah. His absence was first reported to police on November 16, 2025, but despite the complaint, his whereabouts remained unknown for several days.
Unable to wait any longer, relatives and community members organized a search on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. During the operation, they discovered the lower part of Yeboah’s body in the Bediasi stream. Shortly afterward, the upper part was found about 50 metres away, both in a decomposed state. Family members later identified the remains, and a pathologist was called in to conduct examinations to establish the cause of death.
Relatives have since demanded justice. One family member, Thomas Aboah, expressed his anger, saying:
“We know he was shot before dismembered into the stream. We wish he (suspect) could be dealt with same, but the law must take its course. He (suspect) should die in prison.”
Another elderly relative, Samuel Kwesi Mintah, added:
“We are pained. The first suspect, the father, refused to give information to the police, because he knew what he had done. We leave the matter to the state. Ours is to go bury our family member.”
The deceased, a civilian employed by the military, was last seen in his hometown, Ahyia Yeboah, on November 16. Reports indicate he had gone to the suspect’s residence to retrieve proceeds from an iPhone 6 belonging to his female friend.
Police have confirmed that the father is currently in custody, while his son, the alleged accomplice, was arrested in Ashaiman.
Meanwhile, tensions escalated in the community early Wednesday morning when some youth set fire to houses belonging to the suspects. The swift intervention of police and fire service personnel prevented further destruction and restored calm.
