Self-styled evangelist Patricia Asiedua, widely known as Nana Agradaa, has officially retracted and apologised for the damaging allegations she leveled against celebrated gospel musician Empress Gifty earlier this year.
The controversial evangelist, who has been at the centre of numerous public disputes and legal issues over the years, issued the retraction through her legal representatives, Agyaa Asamani Law Consult, on Thursday, December 4. In the statement, her lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, confirmed that all accusations made by Agradaa in May 2025 were completely false and made “in the spur of the moment.”
According to the legal team, Agradaa’s claims—which circulated widely on social media—were without evidence and should be disregarded entirely. The evangelist has now issued an “unqualified and sincere apology,” acknowledging the emotional, reputational, and psychological harm her statements may have caused Empress Gifty.
Nana Agradaa, known for her fiery personality and frequent clashes with public figures, is no stranger to controversy. Her latest retraction adds to a long list of apologies and legal clarifications she has been compelled to issue following public outbursts and defamatory remarks.
Empress Gifty, one of Ghana’s foremost gospel musicians and a respected figure in the industry, has maintained her composure throughout the ordeal. With a strong fan base, numerous hit songs, and a reputation for resilience, she has continued to focus on her ministry and music career despite the negative publicity stirred up by the allegations.
The apology also extends to Empress Gifty’s family, management team, and associates, with Agradaa’s lawyers emphasising that the gesture is intended to restore peace and correct all misinformation circulating about the award-winning musician.
This public retraction brings closure to a months-long saga that dominated social media conversations cementing once again the importance of responsibility and accountability in public discourse.
