Raheem Sterling has embarked on a new chapter in his career, signing with Dutch giants Feyenoord after a turbulent spell in England. The four-time Premier League champion joins the Eredivisie side on a free transfer, committing until the end of the season.
Sterling’s move comes after months of uncertainty at Chelsea, where he was sidelined, forced to train alone, and eventually loaned to Arsenal during the 2024–2025 campaign. His release from the Blues paved the way for a fresh opportunity in Rotterdam.
Currently second in the Dutch league, Feyenoord trail leaders PSV Eindhoven by 17 points. Despite the gap, Sterling believes the club offers the right environment to rebuild his confidence and rediscover his form. “I’m confident that Feyenoord is a place I can be happy and establish myself as a valued member of the team,” he said in the club’s official statement.
The England international acknowledged the challenge of moving abroad but expressed excitement about the opportunity. “Playing abroad is a whole new challenge for me – and one I’m ready to embrace. Honestly, I’m just excited to get started,” Sterling added.
For Feyenoord, the signing brings both experience and star power to Robin van Persie’s squad. For Sterling, it represents a chance to reset his career trajectory, away from the turbulence of recent seasons in England.
