President John Dramani Mahama has departed Accra for a five-day working visit to the Republic of Korea, the Presidency has announced.
According to a statement from the Presidency Communications issued on Sunday, the visit, scheduled between March 10th and 14th, will have President Mahama hold a bilateral meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, with discussion expected to focus on trade, investment, and cooperation between the two countries.
The schedule also includes a separate meeting with the Speaker of the Korean National Assembly, Woo Won-Shik, followed by a visit to the southern industrial city of Ulsan to participate in a ship-naming ceremony at the Hyundai Shipyard.
The statement noted that President Mahama will deliver a speech at a Conferment Ceremony at Yonsei University, one of South Korea’s most prestigious institutions, before hosting “an evening with Ghanaians living, studying, and working in South Korea.”
The President is expected to round off the visit with a dinner meeting with Chief Executives and business owners, as part of efforts to “attract Korean investment and deepen bilateral economic ties.”
