MTN Ghana has taken a decisive step to strengthen its home broadband business with the appointment of Richard Acheampong as Chief Home Officer, effective November 1, 2025. The move signals the company’s intent to accelerate growth in household connectivity and digital services at a time when demand for fast, reliable internet is reshaping everyday life across the country.
Acheampong brings a wealth of experience to the role, having built a career that spans more than two decades across telecommunications, advertising, and the brewery industry. Within the MTN Group, he has held senior positions in multiple markets, including Chief Consumer Officer at MTN Zambia and Chief Marketing Officer at MTN Rwanda. In those roles, he was credited with driving customer-focused strategies and delivering strong market performance.
As Chief Home Officer, Acheampong will oversee the expansion and operational performance of MTN Home, the division responsible for delivering broadband solutions to households nationwide. His mandate includes steering innovation and ensuring that MTN’s home services remain future-ready in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Stephen Blewett, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, welcomed the appointment, saying: “Richard’s deep understanding of the business, strong commercial acumen and passion for customer excellence position him perfectly to lead MTN Home into its next phase of growth. As Home broadband becomes increasingly central to how Ghanaians work, learn, and live, his leadership will be critical to delivering superior customer experiences.”
The announcement is part of MTN Ghana’s broader Ambition 2030 strategy, which emphasizes resilience, customer focus, and digital transformation. By investing in leadership talent, the company aims to cement its role as a key driver of connectivity in Ghanaian homes, ensuring that households are equipped with the tools to thrive in a digital-first future.
