NPP treasurer halts tour after road accident

A road accident in the Savannah Region has cut short a working visit by the National Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr Charles Dwamena, after his convoy was involved in a crash near Buipe on Friday.

The incident took place on April 24 while the convoy was en route from Tamale towards Kintampo. Dr Dwamena and the rest of his team escaped without injury, but the driver was not as fortunate, he sustained injuries in the crash and was taken to the Central Gonja Government Hospital, where he is said to be responding to treatment.

In the wake of the accident, Dr Dwamena has opted to suspend all remaining activities on his itinerary until further notice.
