Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has urged government appointees and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to stay focused on delivering policies that meaningfully improve the lives of citizens.
Speaking at the party’s June 4 Uprising Commemoration in Banda on Thursday, June 4, she reminded members that the NDC was founded on the need to address governance challenges and must continue to uphold that mission while in power.
She said the party’s original purpose should remain central to its work in government, stressing the importance of correcting past shortcomings and sustaining reforms that promote good governance.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang emphasised that manifesto commitments should not remain campaign promises but must translate into real, visible improvements in the everyday lives of Ghanaians.
She added that policies developed by the party should be reflected in tangible outcomes that positively affect citizens’ daily experiences.
The Vice President also highlighted government investments in key sectors such as education, healthcare, and road infrastructure, describing them as evidence of efforts to ensure national resources benefit all citizens.
She further commended Ministers of State and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) for their work in implementing government programmes, urging them to remain committed to delivering development-focused results that enhance the welfare of the population.
