Emirates Airlines has announced an expansion of its operations in Ghana, introducing four additional weekly flights between Dubai and Accra starting July 12, 2026.
The airline says the development underscores its long-standing commitment to Ghana and is aimed at meeting rising demand for international travel and improved global connectivity.
The new flights will supplement Emirates’ existing daily service between the two cities and are expected to ease growing passenger traffic on the route.
Flight schedule details
Beginning July 12, the additional direct service, operating as EK789, will depart Dubai at 03:30 local time and arrive in Accra at 07:40 local time. The return leg, EK790, will leave Accra at 10:25 and land in Dubai at 22:40.
The service will be operated using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Emirates says the expanded schedule is designed to offer more convenient connections for travellers from Accra to key global destinations such as Beijing, Seoul, Sydney, Perth, Mumbai, Singapore, New York (JFK), and Jeddah.
It will also improve inbound connectivity to Ghana, particularly for passengers travelling from cities including Delhi, Boston, Los Angeles, as well as several locations in Germany and the United Kingdom.
The airline’s Country Manager for Ghana, Salem Almana, said Emirates has spent more than two decades linking Ghana to the world and remains committed to supporting the country’s growing aviation needs.
He noted that the expansion reflects confidence in the Ghanaian market and will further enhance travel convenience while strengthening trade, tourism, and business ties between Ghana and international markets.
Through its Dubai hub, Emirates says passengers will gain access to nearly 140 global destinations, while also increasing opportunities for international visitors to travel to Ghana.
With the addition of EK789 and EK790, Emirates will operate 11 weekly flights to Ghana, offering First, Business, and Economy Class services aboard its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The airline highlights its premium onboard experience, including regionally inspired meals, complimentary beverages, and its “ice” inflight entertainment system, which provides up to 6,500 channels in more than 40 languages, including Ghanaian titles such as Kotoka, Part Time Woman, and Ghana Map.
Beyond passenger services, Emirates says the additional flights will enhance cargo capacity through Emirates SkyCargo, supporting exports such as fresh produce, electronics, textiles, and pharmaceuticals. The airline expects the increased capacity to boost trade efficiency and give Ghanaian businesses improved access to international markets.
