New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicator KOKA has launched a scathing attack on the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, accusing its leadership of incompetence while expressing concern over what he described as growing corruption within Ghana’s sports sector.
Speaking on Xtwo Media, KOKA criticized the performance and management of the country’s sporting affairs, particularly regarding the national team’s recent World Cup campaign.
“The Sports Minister is incompetent and the person who appointed him is the father of incompetence,” he said, directing his criticism at both the sector minister and President John Dramani Mahama.
KOKA also took aim at the administration’s overall handling of national affairs, arguing that a series of unfortunate incidents since the change in government reflected poor leadership. He cited recent plane crashes, flooding incidents, and fire outbreaks as examples of challenges that have occurred under the current administration.
In his remarks, he referred to President Mahama as “Conan the Destroyer,” claiming that conditions in the country had deteriorated since the President returned to office. KOKA went further by sarcastically attributing a range of societal problems to the government, including issues unrelated to state policy, in an apparent attempt to underscore his criticism of the administration.
The NPP communicator also accused Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku of being closely associated with corruption, alleging that corruption had become deeply entrenched in the management of sports in the country. He claimed that “Kurt and corruption go hand in hand,” although he did not provide evidence to support the allegation.
His comments add to ongoing political debate surrounding the performance of Ghana’s sports administration and the broader direction of the country’s sporting sector.
Neither the Sports Ministry, the Presidency, nor Kurt Okraku had publicly responded to the allegations at the time of filing this report.
