Dancehall musician Shatta Wale and rapper Medikal have partnered with the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) to promote Ghanaian jewellery at this year’s ShattaFest UK, scheduled for August 1, 2026, at Copthall Playing Fields in London.
The two artistes paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of GoldBod, Sammy Gyamfi, to discuss a collaboration aimed at showcasing Ghana’s gold and jewellery industry to an international audience through the event.
During the meeting, Mr Gyamfi described ShattaFest as one of Ghana’s biggest entertainment events, noting that the festival consistently attracts massive crowds comparable to some of the country’s most attended football matches and political rallies.

He expressed GoldBod’s commitment to supporting the initiative, saying the partnership would help bridge Ghana’s creative arts sector with its gold industry while promoting locally made jewellery on the global stage.
As part of the visit, Shatta Wale and Medikal toured the GoldBod Jewellery House, where they interacted with staff and explored the facility’s operations.
The meeting also featured light-hearted moments, including the artistes joining GoldBod staff to sing “Happy Birthday” to a staff member.
The collaboration is expected to use ShattaFest UK as a platform to highlight Ghanaian music, culture and craftsmanship while promoting the country’s jewellery industry to international audiences.
