Fire guts two cars, damages school bus at Mahean
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has reported that two vehicles were completely burnt while a school bus was partially damaged following a fire outbreak at Mahean, near Divine Glory School in the Greater Accra Region, on Monday night.
In a statement, the GNFS said firefighters from the Anyaa Fire Station responded after the Fire Master Control received an emergency call at 9:40 p.m.
A rescue team led by ADO II Tetteh David Quansah was deployed a minute later and arrived at the scene at 10:02 p.m. The fire was contained by 10:18 p.m. and fully extinguished at 10:54 p.m.
The blaze destroyed a Toyota Highlander with registration number GN-3868-Y and a Nissan Sentra bearing registration number GE-6765-12.
A Nissan Coaster school bus, registration number GT-2061-N, suffered partial damage. Firefighters successfully prevented the flames from spreading to nearby vehicles and surrounding properties.
The Fire Service confirmed that no injuries or fatalities were recorded and said investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the incident.
