Otumfuo destools Kenyase No. 2 Paramount Chief

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has destooled the Paramount Chief of Kenyase No. 2, Nana Kwabena Nsia Ababio, for breaching Asante customs and traditions.

The decision was announced during a meeting of the Asanteman Traditional Council on Monday, July 27, 2026.

In addition to the Paramount Chief, nearly all of his kingmakers were also destooled after they were found to have violated the oath associated with their traditional offices.

However, the Asantehene exempted the Kontihene from the sanctions and reinstated the previously destooled Akyeame and other linguists serving on the traditional council.
