The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the timetable for its 2026 Constituency, Regional and National Executive Elections following a directive from the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC).
In a statement issued on Wednesday, August 5, the party said the FEC, at a meeting held on Tuesday, August 4, approved the release of the schedule to begin the process of electing new executives at the constituency, regional and national levels.
According to the NDC, the timetable outlines the various stages of the internal elections, including the opening and filing of nominations, vetting of aspirants, appeals, balloting and the elections themselves.
The party said the schedule demonstrates its commitment to holding transparent, credible and well-organised internal elections in line with the NDC Constitution and approved electoral guidelines.
It urged constituency and regional executives, prospective candidates and members to study the timetable carefully and comply with all deadlines and procedures to ensure a smooth electoral process.
The party also thanked its members, executives and other stakeholders for their continued support and dedication.
The NDC expressed confidence that the unity and collective spirit demonstrated during its recent reorganisation would further strengthen the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Under the timetable, nominations for constituency executive positions will open at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, and close at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17. Interested candidates are required to submit their applications online through the party’s designated portal.
Aspirants will have seven days to complete their nomination forms, including obtaining the required endorsements on Form B.
The filing of nominations is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, and Thursday, September 24, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Candidates must submit the forms online and provide hard copies at their respective constituency offices.
Vetting of constituency aspirants will take place from Friday, September 25, to Sunday, September 27, at the constituency offices.
The appeals process is scheduled for Tuesday, September 29, through Thursday, October 1, with hearings to be held at the regional offices.
Constituency executive elections will then take place on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, at designated venues across the constituencies.
For the national executive elections, nominations will open at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, and close at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21. Applications will also be submitted through the party’s online portal.
National executive aspirants will have 14 days to complete their nomination forms, with the filing of nominations scheduled from Saturday, November 7, to Monday, November 9.
Candidates will be required to submit their nomination forms both online and in hard copy at the NDC national office between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Vetting of candidates contesting national executive positions is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, and Friday, November 13, at the party’s national headquarters.
