Lamine Yamal faces fan pressure over beard promise

Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal is once again being urged by fans to honour a promise he made ahead of the World Cup but has yet to fulfil.

The renewed calls came after his Barcelona and Spain teammate Gavi finally completed his own promised hair transformation earlier this week, attracting significant attention on social media.

Several Spanish players had made unusual appearance-related pledges before the tournament, promising to change their looks if Spain won the World Cup. Marc Cucurella, for instance, vowed to get a tattoo of head coach Luis de la Fuente’s face and followed through shortly after the triumph.

Gavi had also promised to dye his hair pink, but delayed making the change until this week, when he finally fulfilled his pledge.
