GNFS honours two firefighters for bravery in Volta Region flood rescue
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has recognised two firefighters for their bravery and commitment during a flood rescue operation in the Sogakope enclaves of the Volta Region in July 2026.
The officers honoured are LFM Sene Famous of the Sogakope Fire Station and FM Yao Addo Kumi of the Adidome Fire Station, who helped rescue and support residents affected by the flooding.
In recognition of their efforts, the two received assorted items as a token of appreciation for their dedication to protecting lives and property during the emergency.
The GNFS said the commendation highlights the courage and commitment of firefighters who respond to emergencies in challenging and hazardous conditions to save lives and assist communities affected by disasters.
The recognition was announced in a statement issued by the GNFS Public Relations Officer for the Volta Region on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
