The State Housing Company Limited (SHC) has begun a nationwide audit and recovery exercise to identify and reclaim its lands and properties being occupied or transacted without proper authorisation.
In a public notice issued on Thursday, September 24, 2026, SHC said the exercise would cover individuals occupying its lands without valid authority, encroaching on its properties, or holding leases and other interests that have expired.
The exercise will also target people who have developed or occupied SHC properties without the required approvals, as well as those who have unlawfully assigned, sublet, transferred or otherwise dealt with the company’s properties.
SHC has given affected individuals 21 days from the date of the notice to regularise their occupation or interests where permitted by law, seek renewal of expired leases where applicable, or vacate the properties.
The company said those affected are required to submit relevant lease agreements, allocation documents, payment records and other supporting documentation for verification.
SHC warned that individuals who do not have a valid interest in its properties and fail to comply within the stipulated period could face lawful recovery action and other remedies available to the company under the law.
The company has also cautioned members of the public against purchasing, leasing, developing or otherwise dealing with SHC properties without first confirming the ownership status of the property and the authority of the person involved in the transaction.
The nationwide exercise forms part of SHC’s efforts to review its land and property portfolio and address cases of unauthorised occupation and unlawful transactions.
