Residents of Community 25 near Tema on Tuesday, October 6, visited the Ghana Water Limited (GWL) office at Gbetsile to seek answers over a prolonged water shortage affecting the area.
The residents said the supply of potable water had been inconsistent for more than two months, disrupting household activities and forcing many people to rely on alternative sources.
Several parts of the community have reportedly been without tap water for weeks, while some residents have been compelled to pay high prices to access water.
Speaking to Citi News, Prosper Segbey, a member of the Community 25 Residents Association, said the shortage was affecting students, businesses and workers in the area.
He appealed to the government and relevant authorities to intervene urgently to address the situation and restore a reliable water supply.
Meanwhile, the association’s chairman, Van-Gogh Bagnaba, called on residents to remain calm as the leadership engages Ghana Water Limited on measures to restore regular water supply to the community.
