Mohamed Salah’s move to Turkish football is paying off, with the Egyptian forward becoming the first player to register 10 goal contributions in his opening seven Turkish Super Lig appearances.
The 34-year-old reached the milestone on Saturday after setting up a goal in Trabzonspor’s 3-0 victory over Samsunspor. He now has seven goals and three assists since beginning his league campaign with the club.
Salah joined Trabzonspor on a two-year deal in August after leaving Liverpool as a free agent at the end of last season, bringing his long spell in English football to a close.
His arrival generated significant excitement among supporters, who turned out in large numbers to welcome him to Turkey.
The Egypt captain began his Trabzonspor career as a substitute in a 1-1 draw against Kasimpasa before quickly establishing himself as a key figure in the attack.
One of his standout performances came against defending champions Galatasaray, when he scored a hat-trick and provided an assist in a 4-0 win. The result handed Galatasaray their first defeat of the season.
Trabzonspor, seven-time Turkish champions, finished third in the league last season. Salah’s early form has strengthened their attacking options as they seek to compete at the top of the table.
