Roselyn Akosua Mantey Becomes a Guinness World Record Holder for Longest Marathon In Applying Makeup

Roselyn Akosua Mantey, a former winner of TV3 mentor and a makeup artist has officially unveiled her Guinness World Record certificate after winning the longest marathon in applying makeup.

In a media event, the make up artist shared how she managed to achieve this extraordinary feat and some challenges she faced. Roselyn broke an already existing record of 24hrs after managing to hold a makeup marathon for 103hrs, 25mins and 33seconds which has been confirmed and verified by the Guinness World Record.

She expressed her gratitude toward her sponsors, team and all who supported her in her quest. She also revealed that she applied for the Guinness World Record longest marathon applying makeup in January 2024, and got the approval after two to three weeks later.

Following the approval, Roselyn and her team scheduled the marathon for 3rd to 8th April 2024, attempting to set a record for applying makeup for five days and five nights. She shared some of the challenges she faced, stating that the rules set for the marathon were strict and a little mistake would have made her work void.

” You have one hour or less to work on one model and right after one hour you have ten seconds for the next model to sit on your seat, so imagine if you don’t have any model right after your one hour, it means that even if you’ve done three days, all the record is void” She stressed.

Roselyn also added that as a mother of two she loves to challenge herself, so she took it upon herself to do makeup for five days five nights for over hundred people.

“I’m a mother of two, and I love to challenge myself, I don’t make my environment or my situation stop me from achieving what i want to do”

Roselyn Akosua Mantey emphasized that the marathon was her way of selling the beauty industry in Ghana.

“I want the world to know what we have in Ghana, I want the world to know that Africa beauty industry or Ghana beauty industry is so doing well and this is to tell them what we can do.”
