President John Dramani Mahama
President-elect John Dramani Mahama has taken a decisive step in his fight against corruption by forming an anti-corruption preparatory team as part of his flagship initiative, “Operation Recover All Loot” (ORAL). This move signals his determination to tackle corruption and ensure accountability during his tenure.
According to the Transition Team’s announcement on December 18, 2024, signed by spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the preparatory team has been tasked with gathering information on suspected acts of corruption from credible sources and the public.
The findings will form the foundation of the ORAL initiative, which aims to recover stolen public funds and hold those responsible accountable.
The team comprises seasoned professionals from various fields, reflecting a robust and multidisciplinary approach to combating corruption:
- Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa – Chairman
- Mr. Daniel Domelevo – Former Auditor-General
- COP (Rtd.) Nathaniel Kofi Boakye – Former Police Officer
- Mr. Martin Kpebu – Private Legal Practitioner
- Mr. Raymond Archer – Investigative Journalist
Combining expertise in law, public service, and investigative journalism, the team is expected to spearhead an effective strategy to root out corruption and recover ill-gotten wealth.
This bold initiative highlights Mahama’s dedication to delivering on a major pledge from his 2024 presidential campaign.
