The 16-year-old son of Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako, founder of Alive Chapel International, has been sentenced to six months at a senior correctional center.
This follows his guilty plea to two counts of manslaughter, as well as charges related to driving without a valid license and causing harm. The teenager was involved in a tragic accident in East Legon, Accra, which led to the deaths of two young children.
The incident, which occurred on October 12, 2024, saw the teenager driving his parents’ luxury Jaguar F-Pace Sport. He was reportedly showing off the car’s speed when he collided with another vehicle, resulting in the fatal crash. The teenager initially pleaded not guilty but later changed his plea, acknowledging his role in the accident.
In addition to the custodial sentence, the court also imposed strict conditions on the teenager. He has been prohibited from driving until he turns 18 and is required to report to probation officers every Friday.
His parents, Bishop Salifu Amoako and his wife, Mouha Amoako, have been fined 6,000 Ghana cedis each for failing to adequately supervise their son.
