The Interior Ministry has announced the renewal of the curfew on Saboba Township in the Northern Region.
In a statement dated January 15, 2025, and signed by the Chief Director of the Ministry, the interior ministry announced that President John Dramani Mahama has by executive instrument renewed the curfew from 10: 00pm to 4:00 am effective Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
“His Excellency, the President, John Dramani Mahama has by the Executive Instrument renewed the curfew hours for Saboba Township and its environs in the Northern Region from 10:00 pm to 4:00 am effective, Wednesday, January 15, 2025,” the statement read.
The government urged Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and people of the area to refrain from violent means to solve challenges and encouraged the people to channel their energies into ensuring peace within the area.
The ban on the use and possession of arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon in the Saboba township still remains.
