John Dumelo lays father to rest in solemn ceremony

The funeral service for Engineer John William Kudzo Anato-Dumelo Snr., the late father of actor and politician John Dumelo, was held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the Holy Spirit Cathedral Church in Accra. The service brought together family, friends, and dignitaries who gathered to pay their last respects to the 75-year-old, who passed away on January 3, 2025.

Notable Ghanaian personalities, including Sellasie Ibrahim, James Gardiner, and gospel musician Sonnie Badu, were spotted at the ceremony, showing their support for Dumelo and his family during this difficult time.

During the service, John Dumelo delivered a heartfelt tribute to his father, describing him as his “best friend and gossip partner.” He recalled their final conversation, which took place just hours before his father’s passing, emphasizing the deep bond they shared.

John Dumelo, who is also the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, expressed his gratitude for the love and support he has received from the public. The Dumelo family has asked for privacy as they navigate this period of mourning, while also thanking well-wishers for their condolences.
