Wonder Madilo, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communications team, has strongly criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what he described as a deliberate attempt to mislead Ghanaians with false information about the government’s record.
According to Madilo, the NDC has learned important lessons from the 2016 elections, when, he claimed, the NPP “went around the world and deceived Ghanaians” by spreading lies about the then NDC administration.
“This time around, we are not going to allow them to go around trumpeting things that do not exist,” he stated. “We owe it to Ghanaians to correct the wrong impressions being put out there by the NPP.”
Speaking on the Breakfast Daily show on ChannelOne TV, Madilo added, “We are not going to lose sight of what they did to us in 2016. They misled Ghanaians, and we all saw the kind of governance they left behind.”
He further stressed that the NDC would not stand by while the ruling party repeated what he described as the “Goebbels theory” — a propaganda strategy where lies are repeated often enough to be accepted as truth.
Commenting on the presence of Miracles Aboagye, a member of the NPP, on the same show, Madilo remarked, “Of course, if Miracles is speaking in this studio today, he is here as a Ghanaian — but also as a representative of the NPP. The messenger is as important as the message. So when he puts out a statement that contradicts the NPP’s record in government, he must be reminded.”
