The Ministry of Defence has announced that the Investigation Board set up to probe the recent Z-9 helicopter crash has officially commenced its work.
According to a press release from the Ministry, the United States of America is providing advice and technical assistance through visiting investigators from the U.S. Air Force.
The Board may also engage other relevant experts and institutions, both local and international, to support its mandate.
The Board is chaired by the National Security Coordinator, with membership drawn from the Ghana Air Force and the Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation and Prevention Bureau of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
The preliminary investigation team constituted on the day of the incident, August 6, 2025, to gather all available evidence to aid the work of the Board is expected to submit its report to the Board today.
The Investigation Board has been given 30 days to complete its work.
