Mama Effe Amanor has never shied away from putting her resources where her values are. This year, the veteran media personality took her annual push for BECE candidates further than she ever has, crossing regional boundaries to reach students in the Ashanti, Western, and Central Regions with over 3,500 mathematical sets ahead of the 2026 examinations.

The donation, which touched schools including Fumesua Anglican JHS, Pakoso JHS, Achiase JHS, Emmanuel Methodist JHS in Oduom and several others across the three regions, is an expansion of what has historically been an Ashanti-focused effort. Mama Effe said the reach will grow further still, with more regions on her radar for future editions.
But the former Nhyira FM host did not just show up with materials and leave. She had things to say, to parents, to students, and especially to young girls.

On parents, she was direct: “I urge every parent whose child is taking part in this BECE to ensure their continued education at the secondary level and possibly the university. We must invest in our children rather than in luxuries.”

On students, her concern was the pull of the phone screen. “Study hard and stay away from social media distractions to achieve better results,” she said.
And to teenage girls specifically, she offered a caution that went beyond the classroom. “Young girls should not rush into relationships. Focus on your education and become a better person; the right opportunities will come.”

With over three decades in Ghana’s media industry behind her, Mama Effe Amanor has earned the standing to deliver that kind of message, and on this occasion, she backed it with action.
