Daniel Kofi-Kyereh has made no secret of his admiration for Thomas Partey, describing the experience of sharing a pitch with the Villarreal midfielder as a genuine privilege.
Speaking to Joy Sports following his return from a long-term injury, the Freiburg midfielder reflected on his time with the Black Stars, a spell that included the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where Ghana exited at the group stage in both tournaments.
It was during that period that Kofi-Kyereh got his closest look at Partey, not through a screen, but in training, and the experience clearly left an impression.
“It’s a pleasure to play with him,” the 30-year-old said. “I always saw him as a really good player on television before I met him in the national team but when I was training with him, I saw his quality from another angle, and he’s so good. What a player?! What an amazing player!”
Kofi-Kyereh is currently working his way back to full fitness with Freiburg’s U23 side as he bids to force his way back into first-team contention.
