Six men have been arrested by the Agona Swedru District Police Command in the Central Region for allegedly posing as security personnel and assaulting foreign nationals at a manufacturing company.
In a statement released on Thursday, May 7, police said the incident took place on May 6, 2026, around 12:00 pm after receiving a distress call about an armed group storming the premises of S. I Jun Manufacturing Company Limited at Agona Akwakwa near Mankrong Nkwanta.
The suspects reportedly arrived in a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number GW 8887-V and were dressed in a mix of military and immigration-style uniforms. According to police, three of them wore Ghana Immigration Service-style camouflage, one was in military uniform, while the remaining two were in plain clothes.
They are alleged to have claimed to be National Security operatives and proceeded to assault and intimidate several Chinese employees working at the facility.
Police officers who responded to the scene found the vehicle still parked at the location and discovered three Chinese nationals—Man Guan, Chin Min, and Ma Kaixiang—handcuffed.
The six suspects, identified as Agyemang Benjamin (32), Mahama Iddrisu Dawuda Seidu (48), Ofori Isaac (35), Adom Bills (32), Hayford Boafo (47), and Ato Mchenry (48), were arrested on the spot.
They are currently in custody at the Agona Swedru District Police Headquarters as investigations continue.
The Military Police, Immigration Service, and National Security have been informed to assist in verifying the identities of the suspects and supporting ongoing investigations.
