The official Black Stars social media account released a four-minute promotional video on Monday unveiling Ghana’s new national team jerseys, which feature a bold yellow home kit and a white away kit.
The designs draw inspiration from Akan folklore and the vibrant atmosphere of Ghanaian market life, blending cultural identity with modern sportswear innovation. The kits are also built with Puma’s Ultraweave technology, designed to improve player comfort, breathability, and on-field performance.
The jerseys were originally launched in March at a special event in New York, which featured appearances by Ghanaian rapper Black Sherif and former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan, adding star power to the global unveiling.
A key highlight of the design is the incorporation of traditional Adinkra symbols, including Ntontan, which represents wisdom, creativity, and adaptability—values associated with Ghanaian heritage and football philosophy.
The video presentation has received mixed reactions from fans. Many praised the creative storytelling, cultural representation, and sense of national pride embedded in the campaign. However, some viewers criticized the narration, describing the voiceover as artificial or lacking emotional depth, with suggestions that it sounded AI-generated or poorly produced.
The unveiling comes as Ghana prepares for its Group L fixtures against Panama, England, and Croatia, with growing excitement around how the new kits will feature on the international stage.
